Amy Ryan will join the cast of HBO’s drama “In Treatment,” as Paul’s (Gabriel Byrne) new therapist, replacing Dianne Wiest’s character. Bebra Winger is also joining the cast for several episodes but little is known about the details of her role.
Fans of “The Office” were excited by the season finale’s tease that Ryan’s character Holly may return to the show. Ryan guest starred as the love of Michael’s life who was transferred to another office. At the end of the finale, Michael asked his boss to transfer her back as a favor to him. The next season of “The Office” is also rumored to be Steve Carell’s last, so perhaps, Holly and Michael can run off together, happily ever after.
In other HBO news, Carrie Fisher’s memoir “Wishful Drinking” is coming to the cable network.
The channel is producing a feature-length documentary that will combine snippets of a live performance of Fisher’s one-woman show with interviews about her life growing up as the daughter of Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. It will also include stories of her own tumultuous life in Hollywood.
Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey (“Monica in Black and White,” “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”) are directing and producing the documentary.
