Reporters and journalists who tend to deal in extremes, regardless of which side of the political aisle they’re on, have always seemed well..unappealing. With that said, Glenn Beck’s programming has, and will likely always be, very hit or miss. Sometimes he comes out with stories and news that makes total sense and calls for action on issues that should rightfully be addressed. At other times I listen to him speak and everything that comes out his mouth seems vitriolic and nonsensical. Love him or hate him, he recently started up a new Fox News program and viewers seem to be happy.
The new show premiered on Monday at 5pm EST and pulled in about 2,388,000 total viewers, putting it in first place for the time period and pulling Fox ahead of CNN’s Situation Room, which comes on at 6:00pm.
The show also skyrocketed above America’s News HQ, up over 92% of what show the show averaged for viewers in January 2009 and up 124% over what it averaged in the first quarter of 2008. I may not agree with all of Beck’s views, but it seems I can’t argue his ability to bring in the ratings.
