Despite speculation that Last Call with Carson Daly would become a causality of NBC’s recent late night shake up, the show will continue, with a new producer.
NBC just announced that the show will return with new episodes beginning March 1. When the show comes back, former Daily Show With Jon Stewart co-executive producer Stewart Bailey will be taking over as executive producer though. Bailey spent 10 years on the Comedy Central series and will replace David Friedman as EP on Last Call.
“I’m very happy to have Stewart on board,” Daly said in a statement. “We have a shared vision to further enhance our documentary style. In our show, we’ll continue to talk to great guests, find interesting stories and, as always, discover new music.”
Daly’s format will continue its “no desk, no ties, no rules” format, in which they shoot at various locations around Los Angeles and in other cities.
