Yesterday, Fox announced they are airing a two hour special about Nadya Suleman, the single mother who gave birth to eight babies last January.
The special will feature footage filmed by RadarOnline.com, who have had unlimited access to Suleman’s home since March.
Fox’s head of alternative programming, Mike Darnell, told the L.A.Times that the program “really shows the surrealness of what she’s experiencing, right from the point of bringing the first two babies home to a 1,400-square-foot home. We’re inside the car with her. It shows what her relationship is like with her parents, where there’s an enormous amount of conflict. It’s truly surreal. We see eight screaming children on a bed while six others are running around.”
Suleman reportedly has no say in which footage is used in the final program, that was part of the deal she made with Fox.
The network is expecting, even hoping for a little controversy over the special. “There will be public debate before, during and after the special,” Darnell told the Times. “But that’s the history of Fox. Once in a while, we embrace edgy material, and Nadya is certainly compelling.”
“Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage” premieres on August 20th.
