Highlights of the 2009 MTV Movie Awards

sashaemLast night marked the annual MTV Movie Awards. The show opened with host Andy Samberg inserting himself into scenes from nominated films like “Twilight” and “Slumdog Millionaire,” eventually ending up nude in a limo with Justin Timberlake. The first time host did a solid job and brought a fresh element to the show, like the rendition of “Dick in a Box” and “Chronicles of Narnia” sung by LeAnn Rimes and Chris Isaak (with a guest appearance from Forest Whitaker) and “Cool Guys Don’t Look At Explosions”, a new ditty Samberg created with the help of Will Ferrell and J.J. Abrams.

The night’s big winner was “Twilight” which came as no surprise since the voting was open to the public and MTV’s demographic is mostly teenage girls, the other movies never had a chance. Ben Stiller was also a winner, accepting the coveted Generation Award from a weepy Keifer Sutherland, Zac Efron and Triumph, The Insult Comic Dog.

But by far the most talked-about moment of the night was when Sacha Baron Cohen (dressed in a thong and wings) as his alter ego Bruno, landed on Eminem’s face causing the temperamental rapper to storm out of the building. Here’s another look at the scene as the battle rages on as to whether or not it was all staged.
