Get set for another Girls Next Door star getting her own series.
E! Entertainment Television is ready to announce a new “docusoap” following former Hugh Hefner galpal Holly Madison as she works and goofs around in Las Vegas.
Entitled Holly’s World, the show will follow the 30-year-old on and offstage as she stars in the Vegas production Peepshow. The network has already ordered eight half-hour episodes for a summer 2010 debut. E!’s big decision follows the ratings success of another Girls Next Door spin-off, Kendra, which follows Playboy model and new mother Kendra Wilkinson. The show set records for the network last year.
“Audiences fell in love with Holly on E! and fans are eager to follow her next chapter,” Lisa Berger, Executive VP of Entertainment Programming, said. “The series will feature Holly and her family of friends as they take on new loves, careers and ambitions together.”
Still, even with all this post-Hefner success, Madison still misses a bit of the Playboy Mansion. “I miss the animals and the zoo,” she said. “I want them back. And there were a lot of people in the Mansion who were like family and stuff, but I’m really happy being on my own and doing my own thing now.”
In 1999, Madison moved to Los Angeles to attend Loyola Marymount University. To afford college tuition, she competed to become a Hawaiian Tropic model and worked at Hooters. After being noticed, she began to receive invitations to the Playboy Mansion. After more than a year of visiting the mansion, Madison was invited to move in.
Madison isn’t living in the past. She’s looking forward to her gig on The Strip. “Vegas is actually a very, very small town, which I love, but I feel like I know all the guys there, so I definitely don’t date locally,” Madison said. “I don’t have a lot of time for dating anyway. I’m single, happy and focusing on work.”
The last girl from Girls Next Door, Brigitte Marquardt, has already earned her own show, on a different network, with Brigitte’s Sexiest Beaches.
