[…] Fleming presents I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here Premiere posted at Satellite TV […]
I’m from the Chicagoland region, and while I don’t live in Illinois, I watch strictly Chicago news– which is both a blessing and a curse!
So if you are from the Chicagoland area or are familiar with the lovely politics of Illinois recently, you are probably pretty familiar with former governor Rod Blagojevich.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I learned about the show, “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” And yes, I was seriously scratching my head about it.
First of all, let’s talk about the loosely used word “celebrity”. Here, let me help by shedding some light on the cast for this upcoming show:
Lou Diamond Phillips, Stephen Baldwin, John Salley, Frances Callier, Janice Dickinson, Spencer Pratt, Sanjaya Malakar, Heidi Pratt, Torrie Wilson, Patti Blagojevich, and Angela V. Shelton.
Hm… has this assisted you at all? No, probably not. Because while you might recognize some of the names in that list, most of them? You probably haven’t the slightest.
So you might be wondering why exactly I heard this show mentioned in the news in Illinois. Well, that lovely former governor? He sure was mighty upset that he was going to miss his reality show debut and was pleading with the courts to allow him to participate. Thankfully, justice said otherwise and is forcing him to stay behind and face his corruption charges.
So you can see his wife will be participating. Who the heck are the other contestants? We have our totally real, down to earth friends from “The Hills,” Heidi and Spencer Pratt! They are totally celebrities (okay, don’t laugh your butts off yet). We have SANJAYA! Yes, SANJAYA of the Hair from American Idol. I guess since the kid couldn’t sing, he’s looking for other ways to branch out.
While we do have some legitimate celebrities, like Janice Dickinson, the first supermodel, I’m just laughing at the prospect of this silly show, which is supposedly a Surreal Life meets Survivor. If I do check it out, it will definitely be because I’ve really exhausted all other options.
