I would definitely watch it!
Summit Entertainment definitely believes in striking while the iron’s hot. Rumor has it, producers of The Twilight Saga are looking to maximize on the franchise’s popularity by launching a Twilight TV series next year. With the current box office for New Moon closing in on half a billion dollars, it makes sense, but will viewers tune into another vampire series and how long will it before even the most die hard fans suffer from Twilight fatigue?
Between The Vampire Diaries and True Blood, the airwaves are already saturated with vampires. They can count on Twilight’s millions of fans to tune in but could a series build an audience beyond that? Its debatable. Then there’s the matter of plot. The four books in the saga, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn have all been made into films or, in the case of Breaking Dawn, are slated to be made into a film so what’s left for a TV show? Some online fans have hoped for a prequel that might explain what happened to Edward Cullen and his family before the books begin.
Fans are also excited about the prospect that Robert Pattinson, who plays the brooding vampire Edward Cullen, will appear in the series after reports surfaced that he was offered more than $1.5 million an episode to appear in the would-be series. There are similar rumors about Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella in the films, also appearing.
What do you think? Would watch a Twilight TV series?
