With all the Jon and Kate drama that’s been hitting the airwaves (and news waves) lately, it’s only fitting that I too talk about them, am I right?

See that happy couple to the left? That was a much simpler time, when motivations for having their reality television show were possibly motivated by something other than fame.

Maybe some should have seen it coming, after the announcements that the Gosselins certainly didn’t spend their wedding anniversary together. But the Gosselins have a special announcement airing one hour before their typical time slot on Monday night.

People magazine reports on the issue:

“In the spot, Kate Gosselin says, “Recently, we’ve made some life-changing decisions — decisions that will affect every member of our family, ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace.”

The stirring spot, which also flashes phrases like “A family in turmoil” and “A relationship at a crossroads,” first aired Wednesday night on TLC.

In the season 5 premiere of Jon & Kate, which was watched by a record 9.8 million viewers, the Gosselins came together to throw a fifth birthday party for their sextuplets, but admitted that marital problems had made their future together uncertain.

“I wish I knew,” Kate said when asked by producers where they stand as a couple. But they both agreed to be there for their kids. “We will always love our kids,” Jon said on the premiere. “We will come together for our kids.” – Aaron Parsley”

I may or may not tune in to see what they have to say, but many speculators are thinking the big d word or the end of their season… or hey! Maybe even a break to get things together. We can only wait and see.
