Jon Voight’s having a good year.
First, he was reunited with his daughter, Angelina Jolie and her family after beign astraigned for several years. Though he’s keeping tight lipped about the reunion, which took place in Italy a couple weeks ago, he did say, “It was wonderful, it was a wonderful trip. It was wonderful to be with the family and each of the kids is very special in their own way. And Brad and Angie are wonderful parents, so I had a great time.”
He also wouldn’t say whether or not his son, James Haven, had a hand in bringing the family together. “I don’t want to say anything about any of that…people reported it, and there was some pictures taken, and I was there. It was great.”
But, that’s not the only good news for the Oscar-winning actor, he has also recently signed on to star in his first TV, Fox’s drama pilot Midland.
Midland follows a con artist (Jimmy Wolk) who juggles two lives in different Texas cities with two women (Adrianne Palicki, Eloise Mumford). But one of the women (Palicki) happens to be the daughter of an intimidating Texas legend (Voight). David Keith will play the con artist’s father.
In recent years, Voight played Jonas Hodges on 24 but this will be his first lead role on TV.
