[…] Order: SVU has a couple of interesting guest stars lined-up. First, Kathy Griffin announced during her last NYE gig for CNN that she would be appearing on the series. And it looks like she is already taping her guest stint […]
Kathy Griffin’s 2011 New Year’s Eve just opened up if you have any hot parties you wanted to invite her to. The comedianne has been dropped from her hosting gig on CNN after dropping the f-bomb on this year’s show.
Following the dropping of the bomb CNN executives have decided Kathy Griffin will NOT be getting invited back to join Anderson Cooper in Times Square next year. “She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves ‘The Most Trusted Name in News.’ Even Anderson (Cooper, her co-host) thinks it’s time to say goodbye to Kathy,” a CNN insider told Pop Eater.
It wasn’t only the swearing that got CNN though, she also cracked a few jokes about needing a “bump” of cocaine and on behalf of a Twitter viewer, she asked Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking in the mirror.
But the network’s decision probably has more to do with the fact that the ratings were terrible for the show, it even came in way behind the family-friendly ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ on ABC.
CNN’s official stance on Kathygate via their publicist Shimrit Sheetrit is that, “No decisions have been made yet regarding next year’s show.”
