Summer TV can get kinda dull pretty quick but at least we have our late night TV hosts keeping it fresh with new shows well everything else is on an endless loop of reruns.
Last night on Late Night Jimmy Fallon hosted a John Madden Karaoke contest. During the game show style competition, The Roots play a tune and selected audience members sing the magical words actually spoken by John Madden. Jimmy even had a few special guest try it out, New York Jets Dustin Keller, Kerry Rhodes, and Jerricho Cotchery!
Last night, David Letterman welcomed Jeremy Piven who finally addressed the Sushi-Gate scandal. Piven explained that four months into his six month Broadway run in David Mamet’s Speed-The-Plow late last year he was struck with severe fatigue. After several tests, doctors found that he had “elevated levels of mercury [they had] never seen before” and advised he stop working immediately. The show’s producers were skeptical of Piven’s story and thought he just wanted out of the show.
Piven was able to faced the whole issue with a sense of humor on the Late Show, telling Dave that Mercury poisoning sounded more like a “a rich man’s disease…like something you might get from the leather seats in your Lamborghini, like a rash—like a rash that hurts.”

Finally, Chelsea Handler reminds us all why we need to beware of reality stars in this Real Housewives spoof.
