Amy and Matt Roloff have been taking TLC and the world by storm and if you haven’t at least heard of them, I’m shocked. No, really. Little People, Big World is a reality show that features the lives of the Roloff family, a six member family who lives in Oregon. So what’s the twist? What makes them so special? Oh, just the simple fact that they are a tiny bit different than the average family– no pun intended. Matt, Amy, and their son Zach are little people, while the other children: Jeremy, Molly, and Jacob are of average height.
The Roloffs own and operate their own pumpkin farm, which is a large part of the family farm. However, much of their farm has been renovated to include various fun aspects for the family, children in particular such as the Pirate Ship, Tree House and Western Town. Those parts of the farm are only open to the public during pumpkin season though.
The show focuses primarily on the various family issues and dynamics and the challenges in being a little person in a big world! Okay, I know, I’m so clever. But it’s been interesting to watch the transformation of the family farm throughout the seasons, as we watched Matt complete renovate the farm, including making it more “little person friendly”.
Season 5 has been full of ups and downs in the Roloff family. The most notable episode in season 5 was also the saddest entry, when a near and dear friend to the family sadly passed away. The family has documented their vacations and challenges, among other things this season.
The season finale will surely be another interesting day in the Roloff family. We will watch the Roloff’s experience their largest pumpkin season to date and we watch as the Roloff’s struggle to find the balance of the farm and the family. Matt will struggle to control his staff and their lack of experience.
Don’t forget to tune in for the season finale, Monday night at 9pm/8pm CST on TLC.
