After 30 years of hosting “Entertainment Tonight”, Mary Hart announced today that she is leaving the syndicated entertainment news program at the end of its upcoming 30th season.
Hart, who joined the show in 1982, release a statement saying, “I’ve reached a point when I clearly realize it’s time for a change. There are many things I want to do in my life, and I’d better get on with them. It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say goodbye at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration.”
Linda Bell Blue, the longtime executive producer of “Entertainment Tonight,” said in a statement, “Mary is one of my closest friends, and although I respect her decision, I will miss her tremendously.”
The coming season of “Entertainment Tonight” premieres on Sept. 13. CBS Television Distribution, which produces the series, also released a statement saying no replacement had been set for Mary.
