More Pilot News: Debra Messing is ‘Wright’, Ana Ortiz Already Has New Gig

Pilot season is in full swing, which means Hollywood’s agents and casting directors are keeping busy!
First up, “Will & Grace” star Debra Messing is returning to her old sitcom stomping grounds by signing on to star ABC’s pilot “Wright vs. Wrong.”
In “Wright vs. Wrong” she’ll star as a conservative pundit who tries to make sure her private life matches up with her public face. Messing will executive produce the project. Writer Stephnie Weir (“MADtv”), Mitch Hurwitz (“Arrested Development”) and Kim and Eric Tannenbaum (“Two and a Half Men”) are also executive producers.
“Ugly Betty’s” Ana Ortiz has also lined up a pilot for ABC. Ortiz will star in “True Blue,” a crime drama about a group of San Francisco cops who are trying to solve a colleague’s murder. She’ll play a secretary at the precinct.
“Ugly Betty” was canceled and will wrap up for good in April. One of the show’s other regulars, Freddy Rodriguez (Gio) has also gotten a new TV gig, her has joined CBS’ CIA drama “Chaos.”
