With the announcement of fall pick ups this week by the networks, it also means cancellations are in the air. Over the past couple of days, NBC has announced the cancellation of some fan favorites, here’s the round up:
“Heroes” was canceled yesterday and undoubtedly had the most impassioned fan base but it wasn’t enough to keep the show alive for a fifth season. But, considering that the season finale only brought in 4.4 million viewers, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
“Mercy” is one of two first year dramas canceled and may be the most shocking crenelation since it was widely believed NBC was going to give the sow another shot despite low ratings.
“Trauma”, the other first year drama to be canceled, has been doomed since the fall with low ratings and even less critical praise.
Maybe most heartbreaking though for TV fans is the confirmation that after 20 seasons, “Law & Order” is officially dead. RIP L & O.
