Reportedly, NBC has teamed up with Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller to reboot the classic ’60s comedy,The Munsters. The show is being described as Modern Family meets True Blood, an interesting combination indeed.
NBC has already ordered a pilot, and rumors are circulating that none other than Guillermo Del Toro has expressed interest in the project.
The Munsters was a sitcom about an average family who also happened to be “monsters”, with the exception of “plain” cousin Marilyn of course. The show ran for 70 episodes between 1964 and 1966.
The Munster family was headed up by Herman, a Frankensteinesque character who worked at a funeral home. He was married to Lily, a vampire, and they had a son Eddie who was a werewolf.Lily’s father, a vampire, also lived with the family.
