TV Writer David Mills Passes Away At 48

David Mills, an Emmy-winning writer and producer for several TV shows including NYPD Blue, The Wire, Homicide: Life On The Streets, and the upcoming HBO series Treme, died Tuesday at the age of 48. The apparent cause of death was a brain aneurysm. Mills fell unconscious on the New Orleans set of Treme and died later the same night at the hospital. Mills also created the short-lived 2003 NBC crime drama Kingpin, and co-wrote and co-produced the min-series The Corner.

Before writing for TV, Mills was a writer for The Washington Post and The Washington Times in the early 90s where he interviewed a series of interesting pop culture icons including Public Enemy.
