In last season’s finale, Dexter lost his wife Rita and killed off the Trinity Killer but this season he’ll have plenty of new faces in his life to keep him on his toes.

Peter Weller has recently signed on to appear in eight episodes of the upcoming fifths season of Dexter. Reportedly, he’ll play “a troubled Miami Metro police officer who gets caught up in an internal affairs investigation.”

Showtime also announced that Julia Stiles will guest star in 10 episodes. She will playy a mysterious woman who forms a relationship with Dexter. Jonny Lee Miller will appear in six episodes, his character is somehow involved with Stiles’ character.

Shawn Hatosy and Maria Doyle Kennedy also guest star. Now that Dex is a single parent, Kennedy will play his nanny.

Season five of Dexter premieres on Showtime at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26.
