I enjoyed The Starter Wife miniseries, but The Starter Wife series premiere was even better than the miniseries. The opening for the series premiere wasn’t my cup of tea, but after the short fantasy-related opening, the rest of the show was great.
One thing I didn’t care for in the miniseries was the frequent voiceover and daydream scenes. While these two things still take place in The Starter Wife series premiere, they don’t happen as often, which I’m quite thankful for. In fact, I wouldn’t mind if they cut out the voiceover and daydream scenes completely, but we can’t have it all, right.
Aside from not digging the voiceover and daydream scenes, The Starter Wife series premiere was great. In fact, I thought the series premiere had more humor than the miniseries. Of course that’s to be expected with Debra Messing.
If you enjoyed The Starter Wife miniseries, you’ll really love The Starter Wife series premiere. As for those of you who kind of liked the miniseries, I recommend you give The Starter Wife another chance by tuning in to the series premiere; it really is better this time around. Just in case you missed the series premiere last night, you can watch it now on the USA Network.
