I knew it was too good to be true. After The Sarah Connor Chronicles got dumped by Fox and Chad Michael Murray left One Tree Hill, the show’s brilliant producers decided to ask a newly unemployed Brian Austin Green to join the OTH cast.
Green’s character would have been a sports agent who becomes a close friend of basketball star Nathan Scott (James Lafferty). The show’s producers were also prepared to show Green the money by paying him a reported $75,000 an episode.
Beverly Hills 90210 residuals must pay pretty well because despite the large paycheck, BAG turned down the role.
Yesterday it was announced, Lipstick Jungle’s Robert Buckley will take on the role but it hasn’t been determined whether or not he is getting BAG’s salary too.
There was speculation that the show was also going to shift its focus more on Brook Davis (Sophia Bush) but sources close to the show say it will remain an ensemble cast.
There may be a shift of another kind though. The show may fast forward (again) and pick up a full year after last season’s finale.
Do you like that the show keeps skipping ahead in years or do you think they should pick up where they left off? What do you think of Robert Buckley joining the cast?
