Robert Pattinson, aka the heartthrob who plays Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga, is keeping busy while on hiatus from the Twilight films (the third movie in the series, Eclipse, is scheduled to begin filming in August)  by starring in the indie flick, Remember Me.

The Allen Coulter directed drama, which co-stars Lost’s Emilie de Ravin as Pattinson’s girlfriend trying to deal with a family tragedy, is currently filming in New York City. But no one really seems to care about the plot, its the movie’s star they all want to see.

Hordes of women have been stalking the set since filming began in Manhattan last week. Radar Online claims that the crowds were so out of control outside the NYC set last week that it caused Rob to get hit by a car. “A team of five security guards were trying to fend off a crowd of teenaged girls when Rob was leaving the bookstore. It was pouring rain as they tried to hustle him quickly across the busy street to the safety of his trailer. Some of the teen girls were hysterical and Rob rushed across the road. As he did so, a taxi grazed him.”

On Location Vacations has been providing tips about filming locations that they have received from fans throughout the city. The latest of which claims Remember Me will be filming on Prince St between Mott and Mulberry in NYC tonight.

The locations have caused a dizzying controversy on the site as fans debate where the line should be drawn when it comes to trying to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrity. And it doesn’t look like it will end too soon as filming continues for the next month through New York.
