Royal Pains, a new USA series, stars Mark Feurstein as Hank Lawson, a 30 something emergency room doctor at the top of his game. When Hank decides to put the life of a neighborhood kid above a 68 year old billionaire hospital donor, he is fired from his Brooklyn hospital and black-listed so that he can’t work in New York again. As a result, his fiance leaves him and he ends up feeling sorry for himself until his younger brother Evan (Paulo Costanzo) convinces him to take a trip to the Hamptons. Before he knows it, he has become the most talked about concierge doctor for the rich and famous in the Hamptons, a path he has no interest in following. The show has gotten good reviews and USA is banking on it being a hit as they are losing their most popular series, Monk, this year.
Royal Pains is not only set in New York, it is filmed on location in NYC and Long Island too. This week the series has been filming at Caumsett Historic State Park, Huntington, NY. Other locations have included OHEKA Castle, one of the finest hotels in New York and a member of the coveted Small Luxury Hotels of the World, also located in Huntington, the Five Star Banquet Hall, a premiere dining facility in Long Island City and the Old Westbury Gardens, Old Westbury. If the series locations are any indication, the lifestyle of New York’s elite is about to be exposed.
Royal Pains premieres June 4th at 10 PM on USA Network.
