CBS said that it wasn’t done picking up shows for next season, and apparently, they didn’t waste anytime getting to it.
The network is in talks to add “Mad Love” as a midseason replacement and it’s also talking with former “Scrubs” star Sarah Chalke to join the cast.
Chalke would replace “Friday Night Lights” alum Minka Kelly who was orginally attached to the show. The show revolves around four New Yorkers, two of whom (Chalke and Jason Biggs) are just starting a relationship and two others (Tyler Labine and Lizzy Caplan) are more jaded. (Sounds a little like another CBS sitcom, “How I Met Your Mother”, no? )
The show has already gone through some other recasting and the only constant has been Biggs. Labine replaced Dan Fogler just before the pilot was filmed, and Caplan came on to replace Ashley Austin Morris. Caplan, however, was billed as a guest star in the pilot and wasn’t able to make a series commitment. Judy Greer is reportedly at the top of the list to fill Caplan’s role.
