HBO is premiering a new show, Hung. Will it be as successful as some of their previous television series? The description of the show sounds really promising!
“Once athletic, popular and a success story waiting to happen, Ray Drecker’s life has turned upside down: He’s an underpaid, unappreciated middle-age high-school teacher and basketball coach whose wife of 20 years just left him, and his twin children soon follow mom out the door after a fire damages his rundown Detroit home. Grasping at straws, Ray attends a self-help class, where he learns the key to financial success is identifying a personal “winning tool,” advice Ray takes quite literally in the hopes of turning his fortunes around in a big way.”
Don’t be surprised by the description of the show though. This show is a comedy, unlike many of HBO’s other series. It will deal with Drecker’s life and how exactly he handles it as it falls into pieces.
So what is this winning tool that Ray Drecker is going to turn into his fortune?
Well, reader beware– this may contain spoilers and it is certainly rated R.
Wait for it—
He is quite literally taking his own, personal large tool and wielding it for profit as he becomes a male prostitute. “Looking to take on a second job, Ray decides to exploit his best asset in a last-ditch attempt to change his fortunes.” And hey, what better second job could provide pleasure and financial assistance, right?
Hung premieres Sunday night on HBO. Check it out if you dare.
