Wedding bells are ringing all over the world as summer gears up and people rush to tie the knot. While they are dropping insane amounts of money on their ceremony, reception, dress, and who knows what else, we can sit back in our house and watch it all unfold.
TNT is trying to make up for the lack of quality television on during the summer and their solution is to release some shows to get viewers hooked. Could “Wedding Day” be one of those shows?
“Every couple dreams of having the perfect wedding. For many, it’s the most important and emotional day of their lives. But for some, insurmountable obstacles create barriers to making their dream day a reality. WEDDING DAY is here to prove that a girl doesn’t have to be rich to have a wedding fit for a princess. In this uplifting series, deserving couples from all over the United States will get a helping hand to ensure the most important day of their lives is also the most magical. Each week, celebrity event planner and food expert Alan Dunn (For Better or Worse) and celebrity wedding planner Diann Valentine (author of Weddings Valentine Style) host as family, friends and community come together to create a dream wedding. Along the way, viewers will learn each couple’s compelling story, from their first date to the big day.”
The season premiere will feature an interesting couple and their story, Steve and Holli. With only four days before their wedding day in 2007, Steve received an astonishing phone call: his future bride was injured in a car crash that was near fatal. She only had a 50% chance of survival. After a harrowing six days in which she remained in a coma, she finally came to. Unfortunately, since then, she’s been struggling to recover.
It looks like it will be an interesting show which happens to feature weddings– I have my fingers crossed for a minimal amount of bridezilla and more “human life” aspects to the show.
