ahhaha I love the picture. What is cool to note is that amy made an announcement on SNL from what I’ve seen
There has been a lot of talk in the past few months about The Office spinoff. Fans were expecting a spinoff to air after the Super Bowl in February 2009, but I recently discovered that NBC no longer has plans to air an Office spinoff after the Super Bowl. In fact, EW reported that The Office spinoff was off the table, but an NBC spokeswoman also told EW that nothing’s official yet.
Since plans have changed for The Office spinoff, fans will be able to watch a full hour of The Office after the Super Bowl, instead of a spinoff of The Office. In addition to the special one hour episode of The Office after the Super Bowl, the premiere of The Office Season 5 will begin September 25 at 9:00 pm/ET.
Other talk in relation to The Office spinoff was that Amy Poehler, the star of Saturday Night Live and Baby Mama, was supposed to be a part of The Office spinoff. However, because of Amy Poehler’s pregnancy, NBC decided to cast her in a non-spinoff show instead. Ben Silverman, the co-chairman for NBC Entertainment, told the media at the TCA press tour that the non-spinoff show, which is expected to debut in March 2009, would be “stylistically and creatively similar” to The Office. “The show is not set up to emanate directly from The Office, Ben Silverman added.
So the question now is this: Will NBC treat fans of The Office to an Office spinoff? I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see what NBC has planned, but right now the new comedy that will be starring Amy Poehler is said to be NBC’s first priority.
