Michael Jackson has only been dead for a few hours and the TV networks are already adding specials to their schedule celebrating the pop star’s life. Jackson died of a heart attack at 3:15 PM PST at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. The specials will be added on to already scheduled reports about Farrah Fawcett who lost her very public battle with cancer today as well.
Here’s a look at the network’s scheduled reports this evening:
ABC News, which had already scheduled a special “20/20” on Fawcett at 10 p.m. ET/PT, has added a Jackson special at 9 p.m. It will also devote tonight’s “Nightline” (11:35 p.m. ET/PT) to Jackson.
CBS will air “The Life and Death of Michael Jackson” tonight at 10 ET/PT. It will also include a report on Fawcett’s death.
NBC will expand a previously-scheduled Fawcett special to two hours with reports on both deaths. The special will air at 9 tonight ET/PT.
Larry King and Anderson Cooper 360 are also airing special programs to discuss the King of Pop and his legacy on CNN.
