I’d never really gotten around to watching the beloved series Veronica Mars, but had heard enough about it from the fiancee that it had perked my interest, right around the time it was canceled. It appears that I may get a secong crack at this one though, as Starz has reunited the series creator Rob Thomas and star Krisen Bell in the comedy show “Party Down.” Not exactly a revival of the series, but plenty of veterans from the original show, and certainly worth a look. Here’s that Thomas had to say about it:
“I couldn’t be any more excited about working with Kristen again,” Thomas says. “Her role in ‘Party Down’ is the first that we’ve written for a specific actor. Too often women and guest stars get stuck playing the straight man in comedies, but I think [fellow exec producer and ‘Mars’ alum John Enbom] created a character worthy of Kristen’s significant comedic talents.”
A lot of various images and themes come to mind when I hear the title Party Down, but it actually follows a catering group lef by actors and others looking to pay the bills in the interim. This catering group will take on just about any event, from a sweet 16 party all the way to the opposite side of the spectrum for an adult-film awards after party (and who wouldn’t tune in for that episode?).
