Now that Paula Abdul announced her departure from American Idol via Twitter, fans and prospective contestants are left to wonder who will take her place.
“Pop singers Katy Perry, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, and other female artists will be guest judges on “American Idol” this upcoming season to help replace departing Paula Abdul, Fox television executives said on Thursday.”
But that isn’t stopping the Fox executives from searching for a permanent replacement for the job.
“Fox appeared to close the door on any further talks with Abdul, who abruptly announced in a Tweet this week that she was quitting after seven years when she failed to secure a new contract with a big enough pay raise.”
If that’s so, shame on you, Paula! I’m sure your salary is quite high enough, thank you very much.
What do you think about the idea that Paula is leaving the show due to a lack of a high enough raise? Do you think that greed is running rampant in Hollywood?
Not to worry, Idol fans. “Idol” producers renewed the contract this week of songwriter Kara DioGuardi, who was added to the judging panel this season. Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson are still under contract and host Ryan Seacrest also will be returning.
