Susan Sarandon recently entered a new arena, ping-pong and now she wants to bring it to the masses via a new reality series.
Sarandon says she’s working on an unscripted series about the most-dedicated players who frequent her ping-pong club/nightclub SPiN in New York.
“It’s more of an episodic documentary,” she tells People. “We’re trying to invent something you haven’t seen before that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture.”
Sarandon and her SPiN partner, Jonathan Bricklin, have already started shooting footage for the series, which doesn’t have a home yet. “I’m not sure where we’re going to land,” she says, “because we want the tone of it to be funny and quite different than anything else that anybody’s seen before.”
Sarandon is right about one thing, it will be different, but will anyone watch?
